When It Comes to delicious foods pizza is on the top 5 best choices for me!
The Problem with Pizza
Pizza doesn’t really have it’s place in the “macro friendly fitness world.”
This awesome food choice is usually associated with being extremely high in fat and high in carbohydrates, with little protein.
Getting your Cheesy slice Fix
Just because your average pizza shy’s from having some key health factors , doesn’t mean we need to never eat it again!
The key is making it how you want it!
My Style of Pizza
For me pizza needs to be rustic and have 3 requirements for me to indulge.
- Moderate fat
- High lean protein
- Moderate to high carbs
This Pizza packs a ton of volume , leaving you full and satisfied. This is a must when it comes to just having two meals a day , the idea is to be satisfied with tasty foods to avoid hunger cravings.
Flat bread– Sprouts Market Rustic Crust Pizza Crust, Cheesy Herb, Old World.
They’re many choices for flat breads, this is one of the best ones I have found.
Cheese– Belgioso Shaved Cheese Blend
Sauce– Canned Crushed tomatoes + canned tomato paste
Dry Herbs– Oregano .5 tbls, Rosemary .5 tabls, Thyme .5 tbls, Onion Powder 1 tbls spoon, Garlic 1 tspn, Salt- to taste, Red pepper flakes .5 tbls
Meat- Natural Chicken Breast no skin and boneless 11 oz
Vegetable- Green Bell Pepper 3 oz
Fresh Herb– Picked Basil Leaves
The Cooking Process
Pre-heat oven to 450
Mix crushed tomatoes , tomato paste , and dry ingredients into medium sauce pot. Let simmer for 30 to 45 min.
Pre heat oven to 450 , set flat bread directly on rack for 3 to 5 mins until just slightly crisped and then set aside for later.
Dice chicken breast into small chunks and saute in pan with a non fat cooking spray. Season with salt and pepper (pull chicken from heat when 75% cooked)
Spread 1 cup of sauce evenly across the toasted crust.
Place chicken evenly around the sauced pizza crust.
Sprinkle cheese blend over the top of the chicken.
Mince the fresh basil leaves and then top chicken with minced basil.
Place Pie in oven, directly on rack for and estimated time of 15 to 20 min or until cheese is golden brown and edges of crust have browned.
Serve and Enjoy
That’s it , there’s not a whole lot to this Pizza dish . The pre done crust makes it easy and fast for people with busy schedules but still want to enjoy amazing foods .

Pie Crust – 1,120 16oz
Chicken Breast– 303 11oz
Cheese– 140 2 oz
Sauce– 80 1 cup
Bell Pepper– 17 3 oz
This tomato pie is 1,660 calories total with 120 grams of protein, 204 grams of carbs, and 41 grams of fat. Those are some pretty solid Macros for strength and recovery !
This allows me to enjoy one of my favorite foods of all time while still reaching my physique goals.
